CBD-Infused Drinks – The Next Big Thing!

As CBD, or Cannabidiol, which is a compound extracted from cannabis, continues to explode in popularity something surprising is becoming clear …

A large number of people prefer to get their CBD by drinking or eating it as opposed to smoking it.

Fewer people are smoking these days and edibles (a cannabis market segment which includes drinks) offer a discreet, smoke-free experience.

That’s why Forbes magazine recently wrote: “Drink up! The Next Frontier in Cannabis is Beverages.”

In that article, Forbes says “A wide variety of producers are infusing CBD and THC into all sorts of beverages, including tea, soda, cider, margaritas and wine …”

Cannabis drinks are becoming so popular that even Coca-Cola and Pepsi have been rumored to be interested in creating their own lines of CBD-infused beverages.

Other major global brands like CVS, Walgreens, Vitamin Shoppes, Ulta and Macy’s have already started selling CBD products.

CBD in particular has been drawing interest from companies because the compound’s health benefits allow them to market their beverages and other edibles in the highly popular and highly lucrative health and wellness category.

Look at Just a Few of the Many Health Benefits That Have Been Associated with CBD:

That’s quite a lot. For example, let’s take a closer look at pain relief which is something that a lot of people are interested in.

In a study entitled “Pharmacotherapeutic considerations for use of cannabinoids to relieve pain in patients with malignant diseases” researchers determined that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters.

Animal studies, such as “Cannabidiol Is a Potential Therapeutic for the Affective-Motivational Dimension of Incision Pain in Rats” have shown that CBD reduced pain response to surgical incision and reduced sciatic nerve pain and inflammation.

It’s important to note that CBD is able to accomplish all of these health benefits without any of the hallucinatory effects that are associated with smoking or ingesting marijuana.

You see, the hallucinatory effects of marijuana are associated with the compound THC, which stands for tetrahydrocannabinol.

CBD, on the other hand, provides relief for a number of conditions without the euphoric effects of THC … making it of greater benefit to the medical marijuana market and to those looking for pain relief and other health benefits.

The truth is while many have been focused on the recreational cannabis market lately, the CBD market has been quietly growing, so fast in fact that some analysts are wondering whether it may ultimately surpass the THC market in value very soon.

All of This is Why the CBD Market, Which Was Less Than $200 Million in 2016, is Expected to Reach Approximately $1 Billion by the End of This Year!

Christopher Fenn, co-founder of Wildhorse Capital Partners, which is a cannabis market-focused merchant bank in Calgary Alberta, Canada, recently told Forbes:

“The expected growth of the CBD infused beverages and foods will transform the cannabis industry; taking it in a very different direction than its initial trajectory. In the process, ushering in a second, even greater, growth phase and an entirely new group of beverage and food industry startups.”

Major companies are already getting involved in the trend. For example, Beer companies Constellation Brands and Labatt are both currently researching non-alcoholic beverages infused with CBD and THC.

They are not the only ones. Diageo, which owns Guinness Brewing, Molson Coors Brewing and Lagunitas, which is a craft beer owned by Heineken, are all in various stages of producing CBD infused drinks.

Still, what the major companies are now rushing to do is already being done – and done quite well – by some smaller companies.

For example, London-based company, Sarah’s Blessing, produces a popular CBD-infused tea that is available in three different flavors: lemon verbena and blackberry; fruit mixture; and raspberry.

Each tea flavor contains dried hemp leaves to produce a calming effect. The teas are full of valuable ingredients including vitamins, minerals and trace elements and can be enjoyed hot or cold.

One great thing about the teas is that they contain full-spectrum CBD. This is important because full-spectrum CBD includes not just CBD but also all the other cannabinoids that are found in the marijuana plant.

This type of CBD is much better for you – if you are interested in receiving the maximum amount of health benefits that you can receive.

The other type of CBD, which is called CBD isolate, only contains purified CBD that has been extracted and isolated from the other cannabinoids. So you get less potential health benefits.

Additional benefits of Sarah’s Blessing’s teas, besides the full spectrum CBD, are that their CBD is obtained using a special, highly efficient CO2 extraction process to ensure maximum potency, there is no unwanted psycho-active effects and the teas are 100% natural and organic.

Hemp-Derived Products, Like Sarah’s Blessing’s Teas, Have Become Very Popular

For instance, Dr. Oz and Sanjay Gupta have been busy drawing attention to the benefits of Hemp-derived products.

As Dr. Oz and Sanjay explain, Hemp-derived products are a non-intoxicating derivative from hemp plants that can produce a wide range of benefits and can be used in a wide variety of products from beverages to healthcare and beauty.

By the way, for those wondering: CBD is legal in the UK as long as it does not contain. 3% or greater amounts of THC, which is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. The term hemp, on the other hand, is used to describe Cannabis sativa cultivars whose concentration of THC is less than. 3% and are considered non-psychoactive.

Sarah’s Blessing’s hemp-derived teas contain less than. 2% of THC and are thus safe and legal in the UK. To learn more about Sarah’s Blessing or the company’s teas, please visit sarahsblessing.co.uk.
